How trail notes and closure updates work
Each note in this index belongs to one of five categories: Closure (when a section or entire PR route is gated on the official table), Reopening (when a previously restricted boardwalk, tunnel, or extension returns to open status), Conditions (one-way traffic rules, detours, and fee structure changes), Weather (summit wind, cloud ceiling, and runoff considerations), or Guide (practical trailhead and gear preparation).
Before driving to a trailhead, open both the relevant note above and the route’s live day-check and hiking map entry to verify which car parks return to your vehicle and whether a transfer or combined ticket is required.
